Approaching from Bristol and the north on the M5, leave at Bridgwater (junction 25) and follow the A39.

From the London direction, the best route is M3/A303/A358 and across the M5 at Taunton . Both the above join at Williton, east of Minehead. Thereafter the A39 is a scenic road through Porlock, up over the moor and down into Lynmouth. Bear right over the river bridge - beware, this is a steep road with a sharp right hand hairpin bend half way up to Lynton. Keep driving up through the village, passing the church and town hall on your right; Longmead is at the top on the left where the road levels out, by the two big trees, towards the Valley of Rocks . There are several alternative routes available for guests arriving from South Devon or Cornwall : please call for advice.
